Meet Dr. Silverstein
Lee Silverstein is a highly accomplished senior executive, lecturer, author, advisor, and consultant with more than 30 years of success within dentistry, healthcare, education, sports, telecommunications, science, and pharmaceuticals. He has proven his ability to manage multiple and diverse roles while growing business opportunities with his out-of-the-box thinking. He leverages his extensive experience to cross multiple industries, spanning numerous verticals. His areas of expertise include fund raising, angel investment, M&A and reverse mergers, IPOs, startups, as well as publishing and teaching.
Since 1991, Lee has held the title of Chief Executive Officer with Kennestone Periodontics, a company he founded and grew into five offices, two outpatient facilities, and a teaching center. He oversees the day-to-day management of the business, including finance, operations and talent recruitment. Lee has a proven track record of assembling and developing teams, enhancing individual strengths, and encouraging others to reach their full potential to enable personal, team, and business success.
As Instructor and Professor at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University since 1986, Lee provides instruction to dentistry students. He established the Silverstein Periodontal Graduate Research Endowment Fund to allow opportunities for up-and-coming dental professionals.
Meet Dr. Silverstein’s KidsConcurrent to those positions, Lee serves as Consultant, Advisor, Lecturer, Television Host and Coach to a multitude of organizations. He is the host of the national medical/dentistry program Info-Med, the co-founder and lecturer at Advanced Dental Education (ADE) Seminars, the author of four prominent dentistry textbooks, and a lacrosse coach, where he successfully built a sports team from scratch to participate at a national level.
As Chief Executive Officer of Kennestone LLC from 2001 to 2015, Lee founded this real estate management company and managed all aspects of startup including finance, marketing, and business development.
Between 2000 and 2006 Lee held the title of Chief Executive Officer with Team Link Sports Inc. Originally a Member of the Board, Lee was recruited to the role of CEO to oversee the turnaround and restructure of the company. He built the business into an attraction acquisition and sold components of the company to a range of buyers, the most notable being ESPN.
In addition to his executive career, Dr. Silverstein lectures both Nationally and Internationally on the topics of Periodontal Plastic Surgery, Dental Implantology, Hard and Soft Tissue Regenerative Surgical Techniques, and Oral Medicine.
You may have already seen that Dr. Silverstein serves on the contributing editorial boards of almost ALL out Dental Journals and Magazines. Dr. Silverstein has committed his entire career to expanding the scope and level of Dentistry by writing over 140 scientific articles published in Peer Reviewed Journals, being a contributing editor to numerous textbooks, AND by authoring 16 textbook chapters, and FOUR Peer Reviewed Dental Surgery textbooks. He continues to lecture extensively and over the past 30 plus years, Dr. Silverstein has given more than 400 lectures and Hands-on-Courses and produced over a dozen Teaching and Peer Reviewed DVDs on Dental Surgical Techniques. Dr. Silverstein is honored and humbled to have been, and still continues to be a Featured speaker at most major dental meetings in the United States and throughout the world.
Dr. Silverstein has been granted Fellowships in the Pierre Fauchard Academy , American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He embraces the theory of commencement and never stops learning. In April 2017, Dr. Silverstein obtained his MBA with highest honors and was awarded entry into the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.
As mentioned earlier in his bio, Dr. Silverstein is the author of FOUR (4) highly acclaimed textbooks; which most of you either have in your offices or on your night tables as over 300,000 have been sold throughout our industry. These textbooks include “Principles of Dental Suturing: A Complete Guide to Surgical Closure,” “Principles of Soft Tissue Surgery: A Complete Step By Step Procedural Guide,” and “Principles of Hard Tissue Regeneration and Implant Therapy: A Complete Step By Step Guide.” Most recently, Dr. Silverstein released his fourth published textbook teaching Surgical Flap closure, “The Suture Book: The Definitive Guide to Dental Suturing and Surgical Flap Closure.” These four textbooks are unique in that they have all been Peer-reviewed and have the ADA “CERP” certification.
Dr. Silverstein maintains his private practice: Kennestone Periodontics in Marietta, Georgia. Most importantly, Dr. Silverstein is also known as COACH LEE, and can be found on the Lacrosse field at Kennesaw State University coaching their Division II Men’s Lacrosse Nationally ranked team, THE KSU OWLS. He is also known as “Dad” to his 4 children.
